Employment Activation Initiative
The Employment Activation initiative is aimed solely at those seeking employment and includes free training in skills in demand by companies combined with direct access to employers through meaningful work placements
I am a Job Seeker
Waterford Chamber Skillnet has participated in the Employment Activation programme since 2010, and over that time has worked with employers and trainer providers to design and deliver industry leading programmes in Entrepreneurship, Security, Landscaping and Healthcare. These programmes are dedicated to assisting development of strong employment and self-employment skills in our participants. Our flagship Entrepreneurship food and craft programmes have assisted the start-up and sustainability of over 50 new business/employers in the region in the past number of years.
As a person seeking employment, our programmes offer participants:
- Upskilling and cross skilling within a person’s area of interest or entry to new sectors.
- Industry/Certified programmes
- Expert training providers
- Access to relevant expert trainers
- Certification necessary to enable employability
- Networking and increased confidence.
29 of the 67 Skillnet networks offer Employment Activation throughout Ireland. Waterford Chamber Skillnet is among those 29 networks.
If you are unemployed and fulfil the Skillnets definition of a job-seeker you can attend Skillnets courses at no cost
